The Homework Desk by London-based designer Robin Grasby is a fully-customizable work and storage surface. Starting with a relatively simple beech trestle and surface it has options for felt storage slings, drawers, book support, integrated wooden ruler, monitor shelf, cutting mat, whiteboard, space for vertical filing and charging ports for small gadgets…
We'd love to see even more options for a custom work surface — what features are important for your desk?

Shaw's Original Fir...
Brilliant. I must have one, but I bet it costs a pretty penny to ship from London. sigh
I've been looking for a nice looking practical desk and have been sadly disappointed in what I've found. The selections range from ugly to impractical to non-ergonomic. Many have no keyboard tray or have work surfaces too high, and storage areas don't reflect more modern needs. Designers haven't caught up with the need to hide a rats nest of cords or a desire to hide electronics. Sure, the simple desks look lovely when floated in the middle of a room with a cordless laptop placed on top, but many folks can't work like that for very long. And for those of us that don't have or want an L-shaped work area or hutch, there isn't much out there.
Hmm...this looks like diy way to get the functionality of the the Bunny Worthington workhorse desk. Sadly, this homework desk will probably be in Bunny's price range too :( Still, I like the Grasbby transformability and even the hutch and loveseat look fit my taste.
I like space to spread items out to my left on a desktop, but require less space when I can prop books and other items against a wall or the back of study carrel.
Adjustable table top. People are not uniformly one height, and I wish desks could adjust easily and stylishly. I also like drafting table angle adjustments, but height adjustment, that would be a serious luxury. I've never got why chair heights adjust but not desks- finally get the chair right to find the legs can't get under the desk.
dude.. that desk is tiight <3
