Many parents love hook-on high chairs for their portability, but they win big points with us for being space savers. There aren't many to choose from in the U.S. and most have similar features and price points, but if you're in the market for one we've rounded them up for you.
Two notes:
• These chairs will not work on all tables as you need enough of a lip (or no lip but a thinnish top) in order to hook them on.
• Prices are approximate - shop around!
1 Inglesina 2010 Fast Table Booster Seat ($70)
2 Phil and Ted's MeToo Chair ($50, see our reviews here and here)
3 Zooper Hook-On Chair ($50)
4 Chicco 360 degree chair ($70, Chicco makes a few hook-on chairs including the Hippo and Caddy)
5 Feeding Friend Portable Hook On Chair ($45, this chair is temporarily out of stock at many places we looked at and we wonder if it's being discontinued?)
Phil and Ted's has a new hook-on high chair coming out called the Lobster. It's no longer on their website so we're not sure what the story is or when it might be available.
Are we missing a hook-on high chair that you like? Let us know in the comments. And feel free to leave a a mini-review of any of these in the comments, too.

White Enamel Flatwa...
We have a Chicco one that we use occasionally use (borrow from a friend) but our table has a lip. It works OK but I feel like if my child gets any larger, he will not have enough room for his legs. Plus I feel like the sides come up a bit too mjuch so he doesn't get as much freedom with his arms. We've had better luck with the Handy-sitt since we've purchased that.
we have the less expensive chicco caddy chair and LOVE it. it's super easy to clean, great for traveling (and camping!), comfy and saves so much space. we just wish someone would've told us about it sooner, before we spent three years with an oversized, poorly designed high chair!
We have the Inglesina and love it. It feels very secure, is a cinch to use, and has lots of room for growth. Our baby was able to sit supported in this before he could completely sit up on his own, as well. It has a great storage pocket on the back and it's just simple. We got it for vacation, initially, and recommend it wholeheartedly!
I have had the Regalo through 2 kids and it is awesome and super affordable:

We've had the Phil & Teds one in our kitchen for everyday use, and have traveled with it. I've found that any hook-on chair will have a problem attaching to one table or another. Sometimes the table's overhang is too thick, or too narrow, or there's some structural part of the table underneath that gets in the way. Mostly, I wanted this one because it didn't have the giant arms and could fold up very flat for travel.
We discovered that one bonus is that Phil & Teds has a guarantee and awesome customer service. Something got stuck in the metal threads where it tightens, and they sent us a new one right away.
We hav the Phil and Ted's and it is great! We upgraded from a Chico and really like it. The P T is a little more shallow than the Chico and sometimes me 10 month old arched his back to try to get out but other than that it is great.
we have the inglesina and LOVE it. found it for $40 new on amazon, though. just like djungst, our son was able to sit up comfortably in it before he could do so on his own. if we didn't already have a great, small space high chair; we'd use this all the time.
We have the Phil and Teds and find it great for travel. It folds flat, feels really secure, and can hold up to heavy pre-schoolers.
Ditto that no hook-on chair would fit all tables.
I would not recommend it for permanent use on wooden tables - I imagine any hook-on chair would do the same to wood- but where any moisture (ie: spilled water) and/or heat is involved and the chair is attached for more than a few hours at a time, the wood may swell, leaving marks on the table (we had this happen twice before learning our lesson)
I have the chicco 360--I love everything about it, except for cleaning it!
I bought it before my daughter actually started solids, and if I had it to do over again, I would buy one of the cheaper seats without as many pieces.
The Feeding Friend Portable Hook On Chair is still available at http://watchmyitems.com/?item=B000SONXDO maybe Amazon will restock some soon.
We used the Zooper. It was great when our son was small, starting about 6 months, but he outgrew it before a year old. Plus, most restaurant tables in our neighborhood were not stable enough to hold the chair.

Ditto on the Chicco 360 -- it's been great for us. Though my son is a big boy and he may grow out of it more quickly than he would some other high chairs.
