Hoover is touting Airvolution as a new filtering technology which accelerates air flow in 3 stages, resulting in 97% separation efficiency, alongside a washable HEPA filter (this is a bagless unit) and removable/washable brush. The other notable feature is the design, which seems to be highly influenced by vacuum industrial design from Japan, rather than the clunkier designs we see in the category.
But that's explained by the fact the Xarion Allergy Care Plus canister vacuum wasn't designed for the US market, but the more style discriminating UK customers...sigh.
Powered by Airvolution™ Xarion is the new, stylish cylinder vacuum cleaner from Hoover. With all of the features of TAV1610, this model comes with a comprehensive Allergy Care Plus package making it ideal for allergy sufferers including an Allergen Remover Brush. The Navigator Handle with suction control offers total cleaning control in the palm of your hand with maximum comfort, along with telescopic extension tubes that adjust to suit your most comfortable cleaning height. Ideal for those with Pets, Xarion has a Pets Turbo Brush and 3 in 1 Multi Tool stored on board for easy access.
The Airvolution technology works by first accelerating airflow to 4,800 g's to separate the largest particles to a dust bin. The smaller particles are then forced through riser ducts into a "V-Cells" unit. The airflow is then further separated into 2 V-Cells, which accelerates airflow even faster to 22,900 g's, and 97% of the finest dust particles are filtered before even touching the HEPA filter. Basically a pre-filtering filter system.
There's also a pet model of the Hoover Xarion Allergy Care line which is appointed similarly, but with the addition of a Pets Turbo Brush and different colourway, which we quite like. Hope we see both models Stateside soon.
