Playing hopscotch at school recess is something that we loved and that still endures for our children to love today. Why not bring it home and play hopscotch inside? Here are a few ways to do so:
- A DIY hopscotch pattern laid out on an old rug, via Sewing Dork.
- Rug tiles are repurposed to lay out a hopscotch pattern on the floor over at Dandelion Path.
- Painters tape follows the grid of a tile floor for a quick hopscotch game in the kitchen via Pretty Handy Girl.
- From Design*Sponge via Pure and Noble: a hopscotch board on a painted floor.

Love the first one, but it looks to me like an accident waiting to happen? One over-enthusiastic hop, and that rug could slide out from under the child's feet. Great idea for picnics etc with grass surfaces though!!
cb2 has a rug just like the first one. I actually considered doing a diy for it too!
@ Hinmelb, I thought the same thing!! Seems like a heavy duty carpet pad could take care of it but I think I'd rather see it painted on a basement floor.
