It may be my excitement for mittens and fallen leaves, but lately warm chocolate brown walls have been catching my attention. These creamy cocoa shades instantly cozy up a room and make your accessories pop.
I normally favor lights and brights, but chocolate walls are a wonderful backdrop to showcase accessories and details. Whereas blacks and grays can be cold and institutional, browns are more warm and inviting.
Do you have a chocolate-walled room?

I do. My whole small apartment has deep cocoa walls, with whipped-cream colored trim and ceilings. Yummy.
This just gave me an "a-ha" moment - I've been searching for a bedroom paint color! Woo!
I had a small chocolate-walled bedroom. Loved it.
Now I live in a studio, and am just too afraid of diminishing the light for even a chocolate accent wall.
I LOOOOOVE our brown accent wall. I think it's Bitter Chocolate by Behr. Our other bedroom walls are a pale pale gray (almost white) and when we did our plate wall, we painted an accent wall to make them stand out. I think it makes the room look even larger, as the dark recedes.

Forget the walls; I want the floor lamp in #1 and the ottoman in #2!
I like the first three pics.. the last one not so much... too much brown for my taste.
LOVED the couch in the first pic and yes what fool4jazz liked too!
Ugh. I first saw this post and was really excited hoping it could help me with our master bedroom my bf painted dark chocolate( wall our king bed is against) with the rest of the walls a taupy beige. It is too dark and too boring for me...BUT I just dont know what accent colour to use. I am not a fan of lighter blues with dark browns...never have been. Pic #3 is nice with the turquoise but not what I would like in the bedroom. The linens are all white and the furniture is a mix of wood finishes, mostly a mahogany finish. I've googled hundreds of images of chocolate bedrooms and the majority of them have white bedding with neutral accessories and texture through throw blankets, rugs and window treatments. It's nice...but not very homey...stale and hotel-like. I'm just in a rut i guess and need some new ideas. I've been using a lot of fresh flowers in the bedroom choosing different rich colours each time and so far what I like the best is a nice rich fuscia...any tips or past experiences would help get me out of this brown rut. Thanks AT
I just painted the wall where my fireplace is in my new townhome a deep chocolate color. I love it, my coffered ceiling, trims, frames and crowns are a very light almond color.
@Taryn, maybe the problem is not the chocolate accent wall but the beige on the rest of the walls. In addition to the color combinations in the examples I'd try yellowish green a shade of orange or teal which works well because it is a complimentary color in the color wheel.
I'm totally tired of brown in my own home, but I have to admit these examples look nice and cozy for fall.
Thanks vertexagnel, I was thinking the other walls need a fresh coat of something fresh and complimentary to the chocolate. I might have the gusto I need now to tackle my brown boudoir :)
They're very cozy, but I keep thinking of chocolate candy when I look at those photos. I wonder whether I'd constantly crave chocolate candy if my home's walls were those colors.
