In February, I did a round-up of my favorite non-frumpy houseshoes for the ladies, and now, with the temperatures dropping, it's time the boys got their turn. I must admit: I'm jealous of a few of these…
1. Let's start out with the big guns: The Quoddy Chromepak Ring Boot from Unionmade is handmade in Maine, looks badass enough to wear while riding a motorcycle, and costs $375. The Quoddy is beautiful and will last forever and I know the perfect person to give a pair to if a.) I had $375 worth of slipper money and b.) I wouldn't be laughed out of town for spending $375 on slippers.
2. Also from Unionmade are the Armor Lux Amis Lunis. They're super cute, available in stripes, and made in France.
3. Toast's Wool Felt Slippers are simple, classic, timeless.
4. The Sorel Felt Mocs are better-looking than a lot of shoes out there, and I bet they're incredibly warm. I own a pair of hardcore-winter Sorel boots and they are amazing.
5. These totally-respectable-as-shoes Woolrich Arrowhead Slippers are from Cabela's. Woolrich makes some really nice stuff sometimes.
6. L.L.Bean's Washable Mountain Lodge Slippers are a good non-leather option, and the fact that they're (hand)washable is a huge plus. Slippers get dirty, too.
7. I'm not into hunting or hunting paraphernalia, but the idea of camo slippers totally cracked me up. The deer in the kitchen won't spot me when I'm wearing my L.L.Bean Wicked Good Moccasins!
8. Finally, there are the Wicked Good Slippers, also from L.L.Bean . I feel like there aren't that many men who could pull these off — you could, of course — but I had a tiny pair just like these when I was little and oh, how I loved them.
What kind of footwear do you wear around the house, gentlemen? And what kind of footwear do you wish you wore around the house?

The armorlux shoes on the link are 85$!!! They sell in France for 35€!
Hot as in toasty? or Hot as in sexy?
Unless there's a feather boa on them, I'm not sure they count as sexy.
I somehow missed the house shoes for women in February.
My only comment is that none of those count as proper footwear. Ballet slippers etc. do not provide any support. I have been wearing Birkenstock type of sandals at home for decades.
I have the lady version of the Wicked Good slippers and I love them so much. I even considered buying a pair for my partner but it's too creepy to think of us puttering around our house in matching slippers.
Agree on Birkenstock for needed arch support. My slippers are suede clog-type Birkenstocks, plus wool socks if it's cold.
I like the idea of house shoes, but not in practice. They get too hot on my feet. I prefer to walk around barefoot. No shoes for me!
We wear the insulated crocs in the house. Great slippers with support and washable!
I've never owned houseshoes that (a) I didn't get for free for getting an over priced massage or (b) cost over $20. Do you know how many pair of slipper socks I can purchase for $375?
I kid but only if you're laughing.
My 6'5" guy could pull off the Wicked Good Slippers except for the leather sole. Can't take the dog outside during the rainy NorCal winter without a rubber sole, so I got him the Wicked Good Moc Boot instead. He likes them but would prefer the Slippers; says his ankles get chilly in the Moc Boot.
No law says these have to be for men...unless a woman has teeny feet. I really like the first pair (says a female).
I've prchased and worn through Wicked Good slippers for many years, but I feel the quality of the sheepskin has declined drastically in the last few years.
When we lived with concrete floors, arch support year-long was a must; Merrels were my indoor footwear of choice.
However, now that we live with wood floors -- sprung wood floors -- we tend to go barefoot. I love the first pair, but honestly, can't imagine my husband in them. It's all about freeing his feet from the bondage of shoes and socks when he gets home...
Heh, @baby_smalls, my husband and I totally rock his 'n' hers Wicked Goods:)
And doesn't walking the dog outside in one's house slippers negate the whole slipper idea? They are supposed to be a clean pair of shoes for indoor use only so stuff like, oh, rain and dog poo don't get tracked indoors!
I would wear #1 and #5 as (outside) shoes!
Hilarious! The Armorlux type are the traditional grandpa or "pépère" pantoufle. At any price it's important to know that and imagine what they look (etc) like after being lived in for more than a winter, or twenty. Not Cute except on cuddly grandpère Christmas morning and not enticing as a "hot" guy present ever, (unless he's got a delightfully warped fashion sense and panache 24/7.)
I used to have some Elk skin moccasins, that were very much like the Quoddy. I would really like to have another pair, but not for $375. There were wonderful, however.
I wear Rainbow sandles inside. I have a pair dedicated to indoors and many pairs dedicated for the outdoors. Winter time is a pair of Ugg slippers.
