Ummm, green bottle brushes affixed to a tube for 300 bucks. I think not.
Christmas tree/ toilet paper holder!
I totally get this! I could see someone decorating it with a cool modern spin on an old European/German traditional tree, but $325 seems like an unreasonable price.
25 dollars worth of bottle brushes, 5 bucks worth of wood and a drill. That's what you need to make this....thing. Come on- this isn't even worth a hot or not poll. ICK.
Oh, I clicked Hot before I noticed the price. Sorry.
See, why can't I come up with something, charge a crazy price for it and justify it by calling it modern and hip? Whatever.
It's hot but it's too expensive.
Uh, not. I agree with above comment this looks like it can be made spending little to no money.
It's a 5 foot tree, so that explains a little, but it still seems very expensive. From the perspective of how it looks, I think it's very cute.
Hot, but only if cheap.
This would be Charlie Brown's tree if he was a geek.
not hot, regardless of price or diy potential. I'm a big advocate of living trees that can be transplanted at the end of the holiday season. I think dead wood is a good term for people who like to decorate dead wood.
We have something like this from the 60s that was used in my wife's family's jeans store for the past 50 years until they recently closed. It's basically a stick with bottle brushes and a base. While I enjoyed it, it stayed in the closet this year for a fake (recent) tree that we threw some Thomas O'Brien ornaments at until they stuck. It might come out again next year.
But either way... $325 for something that recreates 60s artificial christmas trees? not.
Eargang, the 60's artificial Christmas trees looked better than this. The designer of this item obviously was just "phoning it in."
Hot if you made it yourself, but for $325, no way.
that is SO UGLY and if anyone pays $325 for it they are nuts!
sometimes you can take something ugly to an extreme and it becomes cool, maybe even beautiful. sometimes though? it's still ugly.
Oh this is terrible. However, my cat would **love** to rub up against those bristles.
This is not a good picture of Kuno Prey's Bauhaus tree. While playful, it's actually quite beautiful and delicate looking. Click to see a picture of it when MOMA used to carry it. http://www.flickr.com/photos/21626496@N04/2092711276/
I think the Urban Outfitters Charlie Brown Christmas Tree that Trumystique linked to is a lot hotter (and sanely priced) than that bottle-brush bore.
