A linen headboard with a fruitwood frame makes up the Lorraine Headboard from Anthropologie, $1,498. Is it your cup of tea, or not quite there?

Not to my taste, but perhaps might make a moment in a teen-age bedroom.
I like it, but there's no way in hell its worth that much money.
I think in the right setting, it could be very striking and pretty. I do agree, however, that it's totally overpriced.
hott, but it'd be hard to coordinate with, methinks. and overpriced.
It's pretty, but overpriced and I think that I would be bored of it after a short while.
$1400 for that? Judas.
I like it, but I would spend maybe $400 for it and realize that in a few years it would have to be recovered in a different pattern (or stick it in the attic for 40 years until it's "in" again).
Anthropologie*
And...yes. Overpriced, just like all of their furniture.
like the fabric but not with that shape
it's a bit too stale for my taste, too 70's grandma-ish.
I just got this headboard on sale for $700, in a different print. I'm going to reupholster it in a plain linen and voila! classic for half the price.
Cute, but not that different from the Target headboard AT was touting last week.
you can find reasonable headboards here http://www.bedroom-furniture-direct.com/Queen-Size-Headboards-C95412.html
for much cheaper that are better quality. screw anthropologie. it looks cheap anyways.
Love it, if I found it at the flea market for $500. Would make it the focal point of the room -- in fact, it would be great for one of those tiny alcove bedrooms discussed yesterday.
BTW, re buying this and reupholstering it in linen -- I think West Elm has a virtually identical version in plain linen. Though I'm not sure of the price, but it's got to be cheaper than Anthropologie.
Really like it. I think i would have all white bedding with it.
To everyone-
If you are the least bit crafty and handy, you can cut your own shape (a little jigsaw knowledge) and upholster one for maybe 350.00, and that includes the jigsaw! This one is fun but would get old, fast.
I adored it right away....of course Anthropologie...and their @#$$&*( pricessssssssssss...argh..argh argh..but great idea for anyone to find/buy vintage fabric..do that batting thing and staple gun to any cut out shape and adhere to wall behind the bed..the print, to me, is fun and whimsical...that's all....: )
Looks great for the right person and right home---
I agree about the over priced price tag!
Anthro. should be going out of business soon due to their attitude in pricing.
opoponax, West Elm has nothing like this headboard. They are strictly squares and rectangles.
To those of you who say "DIY!" that's great if you have the time, the tools, etc... Yes, great if you've got copious amounts of both. But, if you don't, by the time you buy the wood, the fabric, the hardware, the stain, the tools, and take a class / buy a book on woodworking and upholstering, and practice on some throw away material, you're going to spend a lot more than $300 in cash, and a whole lot more in time.
This headboard is a finer piece of furniture -- very well made. It's not veneer-covered engineered-woodchips joined with glue and dowels. It may expensive, but you'll not find a less expensive headboard at Restoration Hardware or Williams Sonoma Home, etc. Yeah, all are pricey store-fronts and you pay more to fund their marketing budgets (catalogs, websites, mall-leases, etc). But IMO, it's hard to quibble over great style, solid construction, and the fine details like the welting and fruitwood (Any of various woods from fruit-bearing trees such as apple, plum, cherry or pear. Fruitwood has been used for panel paintings, carving and cabinetmaking.)
I know, I know kimg924...after I read my post..i thought.."what a tacky twit I am"..you're right!!
