I agree with David, I really like it here, but it's a very risky solution for so many other styles-

It's beautiful, but as Madame mentioned, "uncomfortable". "Faux" headboards really bug me, because they are just a big bump you have to work around when propped up in bed.

I like the idea but....oversize frames like this one can as expensive as buying a new headboard. It would have to be a design statement not a cheap solution.

I like the frame idea, but being so big... i think it would have worked better if it went all the way to the floor... that way it wouldn't look like an empty frame. Also the whole wall should have a contrasting bold pattern and/or color different to the other walls...

Yep, that could be a very expensive frame, and yes, it is impractical. But most important, I don't like the dog; never have liked little yappy dogs.

I agree with Manu. This would be better if it went down to the floor.

It definitely adds drama to the room but I'm afraid it might not be too comfortable when you want to lean on the wall to read.

That room depresses me. I do not like empty frames, its a sad look. You could add a tufted upholstered piece in teal behind it, anything would be an improvement.

If it went down to the floor and had an insert it would be more like a normal headboard...which would be what I'd prefer...but if the point is to look "different", this surely achieves that.

It would never work in my bedroom, but I love it here. It definitely helps to have a wallpaper with pattern behind it as opposed to just a painted wall.

I love this particular frame. Not sure that it would work with any other frame. Love the ornateness of it, and the contrast of the plainess of the room. Didn't even notice the dog until someone mentioned it and I had to go back and take another look. The reason I didn't notice the dog is that I was busy admiring the frame itself. Not sure that it would work with a painted wall or another type of wallpaper, but it works in this room and I love it! Yes, the frame would be expensive, but the upscale look it gives the room is priceless. I love the idea and might make use of it at some future point in time.

I want to like it, but the overall feel of that room is very Tim Burtonesque to me -- the dingy colors and ratty door -- and it just gives me a bad feeling about that frame.

I actually want to hate it, but don't. I think this particular execution works pretty well.

Okay, so there's this great frame in the most drab, boring, and styleless room ever. What's the point? If you're going to be bold, go all the way. No half-stepping!

I like the idea, not as much the application. Everything I would do to it (upholster insert, drop to the floor, attach) would make it a proper headboard, and to do that, it'd just be cheaper to attach ornate trim to an oversized headboard.
