This is so hot.
The concept is great, and I just love the look of it. It's especially cool, however, if they actually reused existing balls; somehow I doubt that.
It's hot... Till you have to clean it. Those balls will attract all kinds of dust.
Yes, this is hot, but I'd go a step further and use a ping-pong table to dine on, with this above it....or maybe not.
Even hotter, make your own:http://fabgreen.com/2007/01/29/fab-diy-ping-pong-lamp/And more to look at or to make or to buy:http://blog.makezine.com/archive/2007/03/ping_pong_lights.htmlhttp://www.designboom.com/snapshots/satellite06_3.htmlhttp://www.ziapriven.com/thetroy.htmlhttp://www.christieandco.com.au/userimages/pingponglamp.jpghttp://www.designspongeonline.com/2006/05/panton-lighting.htmlor here:http://www.verpan.dk/products/ball
I just posted how I "love white pieces that are textured, but minimal"....I mean, ditto!
I usually dislike this kind of reuse-thing-as-a-lamp hack, but this? Love.
LOVE it. thought it was golf balls at first. (ACK!) and then saw it wasn't.. way cool.
It reminds me of Dippin Dots.
i think it would be much hotter if the p/p balls were brightly colored.
Great idea...and wouldn't it be fun to be there if they all came down at once.
