Certain things just rub us wrong. We don’t understand why anyone would opt for plastic trees, plants or fruits. The money saved is clearly not worth the result. Does anyone feel differently?

Um, a little unfair to skew the judging by using this particular faux as the poster-ficus for artificial or preserved plants. :)
I'm reminded of the fake-us benjamina I had in a windowless office a good decade ago. One of my coworkers was so stupid that he'd drop in and comment on how nicely my tree was growing.
Exception to my "NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT!" vote: xmas trees. Had real ones for years. Pine allergies. Unwieldiness. We loved our trees, but they were a major, major hassle.
Now we have a fake that has individually molded needles (looks very natural) and pre-applied light strings. Bought at Lowe's or Home Depot 2 yrs ago. Not your mama's fake tree. We like it.
