Check out this interesting storage table from French designer Marc Venot — the wooden tabletop is fixed, but the bowl rotates and moves down the central axis, opening the compartment for storage...

Well the Pelican are my Favorite birds..so have I have to comment. Not going to work in my place but a genius for hiding the family jewels (if I had some). Unless, the robber loved interesting designed pieces of furniture.
Great for messy people : no need to sort things out to put them out of sight.
First Hot ever?
At first I thought Not because it's doomed to become a hidden bowl full of junk if it were in my room, but then I opened my desk drawer and realized that no matter the shape that seems to be the destiny for drawers in my life.
: )
It's probably cheaper and more useful to buy a regular nightstand than one of these.
The design plays off retro beauty parlor tables -- store the curlers in the basin
(I just saw one of these - the originals, in yellow - at someone groovy's house.)
It might depend on how quickly the bowl descends when you spin it. If it takes a lot of spinning to get access it might ruin the mood in certain, um situations.
I love the concept but I find the execution rather ugly.
not to my taste, but weirdly French, and definitely goes with that round bed in the honeymoon suite.
This reminds me of the movie Fahrenheit 451, with the books hiding beneath the tabletop.
Nonetheless, I think it's pretty cool.
Not my personal style, but a good idea.
that is a great way to conceal bedside clutter
Love this. I have ikea Hatten tables, but it's sometime a pain to remove the lid when there' a bunch of crap on top.
totally hot
