We see a lot of mismatch chairs on Apartment Therapy; some people love them, some people hate them. We found this bench by Sschemata and while it seems so simple there is an elegance to it that we found appealing. This is the designers description:
a chair+ a( duck-legged )chair+ a chair+ a chair+ a chair+ a chair ⇒ a bench

I'd rather just sit in one of the chairs. It's an interesting idea but it doesn't work for me.
this reminds me of the tree trunk bench by Droog

I just don't see any point to this at all. Its neither practical or attractive.
I so like the fact that the legs are painted but the seat and backs are unfinished. It's a nice detail but a little too subtle and the whole thing doesn't really work anway.
Not my dish of tea, but I can see working in the right sort of commercial space
The concept is sort of interesting, but this is very lazily executed. "Six perfectly good chairs were harmed in the making of this bench."
Poorly executed. Don't see any sense in this whatsoever.
I am sick to death of all the "witty cleverness" that has spilled into the design world.
Look what you have wrought, Marcel Wanders!
this is not a bench. its a plank sitting on chairs.
lame.
When I've seen this done before, all the chairs were painted the same color and a long cushion was used to meld them together. I've also seen simple tie back covers used to further disguise the different chair backs.
It's so simple, it's brilliant!
I was looking for a bench. This solves my problem. I can make it the length I want it. This just solved a space problem I have. Thanx.
