What's the difference between a porcupine and a BMW?
With porcupines the pricks are on the outside.
That is one of the most horrible chairs I have ever seen. The awfulness almost hurts my feelings. Hold me.
YUCKKKK but i like the porcupine joke
The porcupine joke is the best thing about this post. Thanks hejiranyc.
I like it.
My 4 year old: "Momma, it looks like a koo-koo chair."
Yes, it does look a little crazy.
This would be cool if the design added function. If you could stand the chair on different sets of legs for different angles of seating, sort of like a frozen-in-time rocking chair, that would give it a reason for being... what it is.
The name "Burst" and the apparent epicenter of said burst make it look like the sitter is producing a giant wooden fart.
In case you folks were unaware, the picture is upside down. The chair was designed to seat a group of several people simultaneously.. one post for each butt. If you relax and exhale, it's not so bad.
My first impression: what a waste of wood!
yep - completely fug
interesting idea, but i agree with ChristopherB... maybe if the giant wooden fart was part of the concept i'd appreciate it for comedic value...
U-G-L-Y.
Hideous.
LOL -- I'm always the one saying something or other looks too modern for my tastes.
I actually like this chair. There's something funky about it that appeals to me. For starters, I love lime green. And then, a chair like that just can't take itself too seriously, which makes me like it.
now that i know that this is fart-inspired, i LOVE IT
eeeww superflyguy - that was a good but nasty one!! lolol
Hello everybody.
Just thought Iâd let you all know that I have had the misfortune to stumble across these comments and am rather hurt. I designed this chair at university last year and have recently graduated and am trying to start a career in England as a furniture designer / maker. If people donât like my work then thatâs fair enough, I donât expect everybody to, but Iâm upset to find strangers on the other side of the Atlantic slagging it off to one another. The internet can be a bit of a faceless thing but itâs worth remembering that behind the things you donât like (presumable you cast judgements about other things on this site) there are real people.
No doubt itâs part of the course to take the rough with the smooth if you put your work on public display â I hear the cry - but you might like to remind the next time you discuss a design or piece of work that behind it are people who are trying hard, doing their best and deserve some respect above name calling - even if you remain critical.

It scares me a little. I want to like it, but I cant.
Maybe if I was looking at it from a different direction?
