‘Classic Bear Skin Rug’ by Lise Lefebvre, starting at $1200
A twist on the classic bear skin rug, artist Lise Lefebvre has constructed limited edition bear skin rugs made of recycled wool blankets. Found at thrift stores, the blankets were refashioned into soft rugs and hand embroidered at the nape of the bear’s neck.
So far Lisa Lefefebvre has only made a few of these rugs but says more are on the way. See one in person at 360SEE gallery in Chicago.

bear rugs creep of any kind me out. :(
Very creepy. And why is it $1200?
The face is a little weird, but far preferable to killing a bear and walking around on it afterward.
yikes. Whatever the polar opposite of hot is in the design world...
Somehow that's even creepier than a REAL bearskin rug.
why?
It creeps me out. It's a bad representation, the front legs look out of proportion, and it looks like the bear was shaved before it was skinned because it's pathetically un-fluffy.
I do love the blanket, though. Wonder if she makes anything else out of those? (surfs away)
i think it is really cool!
saw something similar on craft.com where a girl took high-quality hot pink fur and did the same thing..
my family is very in to hunting, so this is a really cool alternative for a kids room or game room if you ask me!
like it, but definitely not worth the $1200!
really easy DIY.. would cost $100 - $300 depending on the fabric used.. !
