Huge behemoths as speakers, dedicated subwoofers with fancy wires sprawling about, and a big fancy one-seater in the middle of the room - all to enjoy the highs and lows of a record on their vintage 1920's turntable. For some, this is what they call "overdoing it." For others, it's pure bliss. So, we ask:

I'm not against having a single room dedicated to listening to music, I just don't like this one...
In fact, I would love to have a single room to install audiofile level gear in, but I would at least try to make the place more relaxing. This room, while I'm sure it sounds unbelievable, is so ugly! It reminds me of a lab.
I got to experience on for the first time a few months ago at my bosses house and I have to say it was awesome. He had a bunch of classical music and classic jazz records that sounded as though you were right in the room where it was recorded. I've never heard music sound better. If I could afford one and had the extra space I would make one in a second.
