Faith from the Kitchen sent us a link to these eco-conscious note cards from Etsy last week -- and suggested they might make for a good Hot or Not survey. We agreed! The point of the cards is, apparently, to gently rib your not-so-green friends and family. So?

This one made us laugh.
In general, how do you feel about correcting your friends non-green habits? Good move or big mistake?

Wasting paper to nag your friends to be green? Doesn't make much sense to me.
This may not be the best place to ask, but what _do_ you folks use for garbage bags? We use plastic grocery bags, maybe 4-5 per week (muahahaha). Is there a better alternative? Garbage here in Nashville must be bagged, though I don't know how they enforce that.
I'm not ready to be an activist -- I'll never be without shortcomings of my own -- but I don't mind being an example.
I don't think scolding your friends for not being green is really appropriate.
My mom always told me to lead by example. I mostly just like telling my friends excitedly about new things that I am trying or neat things that I do that are green.
Drblanc, we use the paper bags from the market for our garbage as well. I have been wondering the same thing. I reuse them for my shopping but often need more for my garbage. Anyone out there have an answer for the two of us?
REDUCE, reuse, recycle.
That paper looks decidedly non-post-consumer recycled. And for eight bucks, just buy your friend a reusable shopping bag or three.
Then again, I'm cranky enough as it is ... go get some note cards and try to do something good for the environment.
Not only are these cards wasteful and in bad taste - they are passive-aggressive. Can you imagine being friends with someone who sent you such a card? Eek.
i bet the two people who voted these as "hot" are the people that made them. hee hee hee.
Can you imagine being friends with someone who sent you such a card?
No.
the only friends I can think of who would find these funny are those that are already completely plastic-bag-free...and then, what's the point?
