We've covered graffiti in the home and green house tours, but how do you feel about eco-graffiti? Done by artists, these moss experiments are billed as "a healthy alternative to spray paints." We're not sure graffiti writers will exchange spray paint for plants, but we like the look and environmentally-friendly idea behind eco-graffiti. What do you think? Survey below the jump...

incredible
I think that it looks cool, and works on that plywood construction barrier. But plantlife is bad for surfaces like that brick wall! Keeping moisture against real building surfaces with moss that's intentionally put there is a bad idea. Cool concept, but not good for many building materials.
Only if it is your own property.
it's awesome!
don't be old.
I do have some doubts about how healthy it is to have moss on house walls... but... cool typography? Love it.
graffiti is graffiti... Unless it's on your own property, it's illegal and trash.
I LOVE it. How is it done?
Spreads Mold, a Bad Idea.... (Fun concept, maybe with Succulents would be cool)
yeah... how is this done?
Fantastic!
Do a search on Google - it has to do with collecting moss, grinding it up into a solution and painting it on the wall in the design you want.
(I know, surprising that the editors wouldn't post how to do it yourself. This site has the weirdest posts lately).
that is so cool! graffiti sprayers are not going to use it (being more into instant results, i gess), but i love it.
Could be nice if done by someone who has good taste and good skills. Perhaps in their own private back or side garden in the city. I could see a design being done on the side of a red brick, old town house. Not sure what it might do to the brick though.
Probably not very good for the brick, but if you put up some barrier (plywood or something, just where you want the graffiti) then I'm sure it would be just fine.
I love the idea and think I may have to try it out. I'll post pictures when I've done it.
I think it would be neat for a green store to use as signage.
I love this - I'd enjoy doing something like this on my balcony...
atomicranch that's moss, not mold.
I love it!
Neat!
LOVES it. so fun and fresh.
Very cool.
Imagine doing a whole street-facing wall or fence in a flocked or lattice wallpaper design...
there's a recipe on the web for this: http://www.storiesfromspace.co.uk/data/html/mossgraffiti.html
i've had it bookmarked for ages but never had a chance to try it out.
what surfaces would it be ok to grow on? and what kind of plant options are there? great idea
Doesn't moss take ages to grow back? That's the environmental issue I have with this idea. At least that's what I've been told.
