Now back in production, this batman-ish pendant called The Joker was originally designed in 1970 by Christian Ræder. It won First Prize at the Scandinavian Lighting Fair for that year - how do you think it looks today?

I can't quite tell -- are their other pictures available?
I agree with SherryBinNH...I need more pics to decide.
I'm not sure if it's hot but, It sure looks dangerous. I don't think those pointy edges are exactly child safe.
I found this site with a better pic: http://www.casanovafurniture.dk/shop/le-klint-joker-4597p.html
maybe not in black. it looks a little ominous! white, bright orange or red?
That picture makes it particularly hard to evaluate the lamp since it's right next to a batman mask.
Visually the 'batlike' design breaks up the mass of what would otherwise be a very big, bulky looking fixture. I bet this creates great work-light. Those unfortunately trendy pendants provide little truly useful light for a heavily used kitchen work surface. Apropos for an eating bar but not to make a salad.
Impossible to tell from this photo. The lamp is (literally) dark and edgy, but the room setting shown is anything but. Looks totally wrong here, but could be good in another application.
OK, with the additional photo I find myself lukewarm. I agree that it might be something different in white or red or a citrus color -- it is interesting in a sculptural way. In black, it would work better in a different kind of setting I think -- maybe in a room full of neutrals and African masks, or something...
Not crazy about the black, I would prefer it if it were white.
Back in 1970, we didn't all have the mental image of Darth Vader when we saw black helmet-y looking things.
Maybe in a completely different space from the top photo...
yeah that kid looks like he'll lose an eye, if he stands up too fast.
plus they look gross.
I like it but not in black. maybe in white
When I clicked on the link to the site about the lamp, it is apparently available in white as well as in black
