I think it's funney, the idea is really good, but I think technically it could have been made bette : i.e. the backrest should be bent as well, and all wrinkled like the seat, not "cut in half" like here.
it's funny to look at.
Wasn't this just posted a week or so ago?

um, did this already
Here's something along the same lines but new and interesting:
"Lathe Chair V" by Sebastian Brajkovic
http://cwgdesign.com/index.php?rewrite=uk_4a62_art__a_282#
I think it's hot because in addition to being funny, it actually can be used as a chair.
Yep - this was already the subject of a Hot or Not last week.
AT Bloggers need to get their collective acts together.
ddotpalmer : nice ! I find that chair more achieved than this sofa.
Sheesh! What the fffamily? I thought the duplicates were a rumor or periodic mirage. This is minorly depressing. Don't the AT staff read the site at least as much as their daily readers?
Classic example of that old truism: just because you can build something, doesn't mean that you should. On the other hand, it would make a wonderful piece in an Alice-in-Wonderland themed space. Maybe for a little girl. Or a little boy with a lot of confidence.
Functional and makes me smile - to me, that's hot. And I didn't see the earlier post, so while I know duplicate posts can be annoying, I'm glad this was brought up again.
it's a gag - but i wouldn't want to share my house with a gag â¦
This again? Wasn't this just posted last week?
Hey, it's vacation time.
shame shame shame at.. not once, not twice, not three times..but this is like, what? the FOURTH time that another blogger has posted the same thing.. i'm giving up.. this is lazy work..
As far as the double, triple and quadruple postings are concerned, I suppose the AT editorsâ argument is that each city-blog is somewhat independent from each other.
I believe that most people check the main website which blends all of the cities together. It would be wise for the editors to double-check postings and at least make the effort not to repeat within a certain time frame. Repeating something only a few days after another city has posted it just makes us readers think that the editors are lazy or at least lacking a sense of diligence that we hope is invested in such an otherwise strong website.
AT bloggers must be getting lazy.
I want one for the airlock in my o, so stylishly decorated spaceship. So when I have to switch the gravity orientation by 90 degrees to dock at the space station, there's no need to move the furniture!
the lathe chair seems designed to make me sssssssssslide right off it. i don't need any help there!
i like the sofa. but it's really a chair.
would like it if the armrest against the wall weren't in a position to constantly hit your head against...
I'm trying to be open minded about the learning curve for new bloggers, but it really does feel like AT is becoming boring in the last few weeks.
This sofa is exposed in an exhibit of contemporary art. Let's not confuse things: it's made for a GALLERY space, not an apartment (save that of a rich amateur). It quite obviously isn't supposed to be "design" or even made to sit on as useful furniture, it's "art", made to make us look at ordinary objects differently and to change from daily life, it carries an idea, not an actual function.
This is the kind of thing that I would prefer to have along with one exactly like it that was normal to have right next to it.
