Mirrored beds, mirrored tables, and a mirrored chest of drawers (above, from Crate & Barrel): They're all over the place but are they (or might they end up) in your homes? We're wondering if this is a trend you could live with.
Details on the Mimi Antiqued Mirrored Chest from Crate & Barrel here ($899).

Love the pink wall & pink velvet chair tho'!
I think it's a classic look but of course it must be carefully placed and never more than one piece in a room!
Here are some good rules of thumb:

Pretty much always hot...except for that Mimi chest.
I do love mirrored furniture desperately, though I agree that there shouldn't be more than one (or maybe two) pieces. Per room.
more excited about that wall and chair. hello lovely.
I don't dig it. Especially on the maintenance side..no thanks!
This piece isn't my style but it works here. I find that this Regency Style, it's very specific and hard to blend with a lot of other styles
For me, absolutely NOT. It looks cold, hard, sharp, easy to brake. And the bed (posted recently) is the less comfortable looking thing I´ve seen...
break! not brake, of course...
Uhm... not. Definitely conveys 19th century boudoir... like a costumy furniture.
I feel that in the right application mirrored pieces can be a great addition to the room. Kept to a minimum, of course. I recently saw, in one of the many blogs I follow, a mirrored dresser used first in a nursery and then a teens' room and an adult's room. It grew with the "owner" (all hypothetical) and worked in every room. With the right eye to details, you can make even the most difficult piece work.

I love it, but I think you need to keep the piece on the small side and out of the way of errant limbs, pets or kids.
Also love that pink!
I can understand why people love them and in the right place one piece could look amazing... but im just not a fan.
I understand the appeal of Hollywood Regency, but I'd never buy a mirrored piece of furniture. It goes against my organic minimalism style and would clash with all my art, not to mention the fact that it is the opposite of kid-friendly. As a mom, I would never put a mirrored piece of furniture in my son's room. Or in the living room, for that matter. Kids like to play with balls - 'nuff said.
In the right place I like them silver leaf and distressed and all mirror not mixed with wood.. The really beautiful ones are very expensive and the less expensive like the one posted looks cheap to me.
I like mirrored furniture, depending on the right setting. I think it can add a bit of glamor to a decor without over doing it. I have two mirrored nightstands in my bedroom. They are awesome!
I love the Regency Style - and IMO, good quality mirrored furniture is always a tasteful choice.
However, this piece pictured is not. Anyone could have put this together from a vintage piece and we'd call it great, but for a piece from a store it's clearly cheap and the detailing is lacking.
As far as families and kids: Kids need to be taught behavior, boundaries and circumstances. If they don't behave properly by playing ball in the house rather than in the yard and end up breaking the furniture - there will be punishment.
I can't stand mirrored furniture.
I normally HATE any kind of furniture with mirrors, unless the mirror is for utilitarian purposes (e.g., as in vanities or medicine cabinets).
I don't even like furniture with glass: all the way from the most horrendous glass table, down to the mildly irritating glass-door cabinet.
Nice Poll!
I loved mirrored furniture for 20 years, ever since I saw a vintage issue of Life Magazine with a 1950s "debutante of the year" sitting at a mirrored vanity.
Mirrored furniture is wonderful when it's from the 30s-50s and it limited to one piece. But the piece has to be just so. This one is not.
Yeah, baby, on the hot pink though.
Mirrored furniture can be tricky. I've worked with clients who wanted all of their bedroom decked out with mirrored furniture pieces. If you choose to go that route, it's important not to mix contemporary pieces with the more traditional elegant aged pieces. A bedroom full of mirrored furniture with a chandelier a top can be fabulous or over the top. Forgot to add, I found a fabulous Mirrored Armoire and matching Mirrored Cocktail table at http://glamfurniture.com. Looks great in my living room.
Im pretty much a fan of mirrored furniture especially the old and new styles but this mirrored chest of drawers just doesn't do it for me, i would have thought that it should be what it says it is and not a sideboard with mirrored panels as in the picture above?
Surely a mirrored chest of drawers should look like <A href="http://www.dooleysfurniture.com/mirrored-2-over-2-chest-of-drawers-p-850.html">mirrored drawers.
Ill let you comment on that one.
