Regardless of how easily it may or may not scratch, I think it would get covered with dust and dirt and pollen and smudges WAY too quickly.
Its a beautiful photograph but I think it would be uncomfortable to actually sit on.
It IS beautiful, but before buying one: take the glass out of a picture frame, stand in front of a mirror and smush your leg caps against the glass. See how it looks in the mirror.
It's pretty, but I like my chairs not to hurt me. That could also get sticky if it's hot outside -- remember vinyl car seats? As for nude sun bathing.... you'd get bum burn from the plastic. No thank you.
Ok, totally not practical. Not comfortable, not nice-looking after the first rainy or dusty day. But really attractive at just the moment when the picture was taken....

I could see this in one of the apartments in the Julian Schnabel designed Chupi Palazzo.

I totally agree with Seaside and would add to the list illogical, unreasonable and absolutely amazing. Need every piece of furniture be practical?
Wouldn't you stick to this or slide when you get sweaty? I think it's nice but I can't imagine lounging on this.
It's gorgeous! I'd be tempted to use it indoors. Lucite isn't just for coffee tables anymore...
It's beautiful and works as a piece of art. It just doesn't work as a piece of furniture.
Lucite is not for permanant use outdoors as it yellows in the sun. This does what it does beautifully.....set a scene. I love this peice.
