The other day we featured a Roundup of Portholes for the Home, but we're wondering if this item goes too far? There is something very appealing, yet a little off-putting about having windows in our bathtub!
You can find more information on the Porthole Bath at The Water Monopoly. Its hefty price tag is enough to sour some, but as a design concept does it work?

Now that's a cool tub!
Love the legs, love the color. There's just something sit-commy about the portholes.
Paying extra to add a source of potential leaks to the bath tub... um... NOT.
1. cut a hole in the tub
2. stick your junk in that tub
It reminds me of The Life Aquatic. Like!
i'm sick of calling things 'hot'. but i like this. would probably be more fun if i had a child.
Nah, it's kinda sexy to have a peekaboo tub.
(great comment flamingo8)
Leave well enough alone--this is gilding the lily! The tub and feet are gorgeous. The blue paint color is divine.
Love the tub in general, would love it more with 3 portholes. 2 makes it look like an odd little creature with big white eyes
It reminds me of the much-missed Glass Pool Inn of Las Vegas.
Ha flamingo08! I so just watched that yesterday....
If its not broke dont fix it, this tub is lovely without the portholes. Not to mention you'd have to submerge yourself to flash someone, or to peek out.
this is a playful take on a submarine. i love it.
It is quite cute, but perhaps I would prefer frosted or fritted glass.
Loving flamingo08's comment though!
flamingo08: that's the first thing I thought of too.
It's quirky but I don't know. I would think it would be fun for kids and sexy/fun for adults.
Bwaha. I think it's adorable. (And Albino_Mag, one of the reasons I like it is because it has eyes.)
@flamingo8 hahahahaha oh man
Perfect for a nautical-themed bathroom.
This is Awesome! Id have it in yellow, and put up a poster of the Beatles Yellow Submarine. As for "off-putting about having windows in our bathtub" uhm...who else is going to see you in there? If someone can see you through the portholes you must be close enough to be sharing the bathroom at the same time, right.
No, doesn't work for me one bit. It just kills the whole look of this kind of tub for me.
Love it -
Reminds me of the old pool at the Fontainebleu hotel and the aft pool on the old Norway - where you could sit at the bar and watch poeple swimming by...
Oh, I see London, I see France!
It would be cute for small children playing in a tub.
I'd rather NOT have a tub that showed off my junk.
I think it's cool. Show off your junk.......what a silly comment. If you don't want to show off your junk, close the bathroom door.
I agree, it would look better with 3 windows. There's something playful & sexy about it all at the same time. And so what if someone can see? I mean, if you're taking a bath in the same room as someone you'd prefer not to see your junk, as flamingo8 so elegantly put it, then what the heck are they doing in your bathroom?!?!?!?!
Anyways, I love it.
I can think of so many better ways to spend my non-existant decorating money.
this tub it awesome, i would love to have played in this as a kid. it's not like strangers are going to be with me in the bathroom, so i don't care about the view
Fun for children but it looks ugly.
You know how your nose looks funny when you squish it against the window? Imagine your thighs against those portholes.
Eww.
