(check out this video link. Turn down volume.) Hither Hills Studio: "A weathered ocean front retreat with an inviting, free-spirited vibe echoes its seaside surroundings with shades of indigo and a natural material palette"

Truly, when will it end? Very Pottery Barn but I'm sure the McMansion set will loooove. Yuk.
Looks just like my old fleabag apartment in college.
Like it or not, he (they) is still a master at creating a mood, and props styling.
And I agree, I think you can get this look at Pottery Barn. Excpet I don't say that as an insult, to either Ralph or Pottery Barn!
I actually like it ... except, is that sand on the floor? No vacuums in RL's world?
Looks like an expensive trustafarian's beachside apartment. "i never learned to clean up after myself, because the help does it for me."
Bleh. I like Ralph Lauren pretty much across the board, both clothes and decor, but this doesn't do it for me.
Wow. Even the books in the bookcase are coordinated to the room.
I dunno. This kind of reminds me of thrift store chic. Which is fine - I'm all about thrift store chic! (Though not necessarily done like this.) But I'll bet you can get the look much cheaper by going to an actual thrift store.
hahaha, thrift store chic is right Dorianne! it's just a bit much for me, it reeks of effort. it looks like he's trying to move past his waspy blue blood furniture lines and move toward a younger more liberal group, but it's just not convincing...
I quite like it! Especially the car and the bedroom lamp. Although, I agree he probably should get himself a Roomba...
This doesn't strike me as thrift store chic so much as very, very studied waspy-beachy casual. I hate it, probably because I find the studied nantucket prep-school casual so irritating (having gone to prep school myself).
What a mess of cluttered stuff. Looks like leftovers from my college days and that was 30 years ago. I can smell the mustiness just looking at it.
The dog and the boy are cute.
Sort of upmarket Rachel Ashwell (Shabby Chic), isn't it?
Well styled and well produced though.
I assume P(2) is aware that Lauren and Williams Sonoma raid each other's design departments.....
Ha I misread that and thought it said "Hitler Hills"...
Yes, I'm aware.
I like it. Looks similar to my place - except i don't have throw pillows, and they definitely wouldn't look like that, and I don't like the couch - but I'm IN college. I like a lot of different styles. I wouldn't BUY this kind of stuff - it looks like someone did what they could with what they had. So, I guess, given that you are meant to buy everything, I don't like it. Again, it's not the style that bothers me - it's like paying money for torn jeans - just silly.
Can't say that the video inspired anything in me other than the desire to frolick by the sea-side. I agree that this look could be replicated for less money with pottery barn, and a good dose of heirlooms/thrift store gems.
This room looks as plastic and contrived as the model sitting in it. Frostylocks, anyone?
i like some of the individual pieces, but what's up with the painter's tarp over the chaise? (chair and ottoman? what is ralph trying to hide?)
looks only marginally unlike a dorm room
Yikes! I just looked at the prices for the first time! I could decorate the whole room (house?) for the price of one of those sofas!
In retrospect, the guy in the pic looks like Beach Fun Ken Doll.
Dorm room meets suburban english conservatory, circa 1990. Not my bag baby! And he totally looks like Beach Fun Ken Doll!
Just dreadful. It's so dry and stuffy I can't breathe
These photos could be from a RL catalogue from 10 or 20 years ago - he knows what his customers like and he does it well - no point changing something if its not broken
Yucky furniture. Yucky lifestyle ad. Ralph's lifestyle vision is old. Plus, I wasn't aware that the Fabio look was still in.
