Actually, if you're going the organic decomp route, then you just want something like corrugated cardboard. These plastics will just sit there.

Also - if you're being buried in a traditional cemetery, then there's likely a steel liner around the vault to keep the ground from caving in if the coffin decomposes.

AND - airtight decomp body = Not pretty. I won't go into details here, but there are many, many better for the environment ways to go after you go.

Donating my body to science. What surgeons can't use goes to medical research. The rest can go in the incinerator for all I'll care.

Science will get better use out of my cadaver than the cemetery will.

there are much, much greener solutions than putting more plastic into the ground. reduce consumption, get rid of plastic altogether. it is not sustainable.

Incidentally, I somehow doubt the putties, paints, and chemicals used to prep a body for open-casket funerals are *all* eco-friendly. Perhaps it's better to avoid them entirely.

embalming is just putting formaldehyde into the ecosystem. Just put me in a sheet and into the ground or if they can't do that, cremate me. We need more natural burials. You notice that murdered people lying on the ground etc do not create illness or pollution of the land. Embalming and funerals do.
