Covered in New Zealand wool and available in a wide array of colors, this Supersoft Sofa by Calligaris is part of a larger collection that includes an armchair and a bed....
We love that the cover is removable and dry-cleanable, and think the sofa looks incredibly comfortable. That said, we fear the sofa would look more at home in a basement rec room than in a formal living room. What do you think?

Maybe if I was 18 and still in college but this doesn't belong in an adult's living space. It looks more like something a teenager would want. How much is it? I saw better sofas on their website but there's no prices. Must be expensive. Moving along....
I wouldn't even want that in my rec room.
Would be good in the home of a hemophiliac...
I think the Barney color is distracting from the shape of the sofa, which, while blobby, is pretty neutral. With the right colorway, it could really work, and damn, it look comfy.
I agree bad color but something neutral or black and while could look good in a casual or kid friendly room. I think some legs would be a big improvement so it doesn't look so blobby.
I agree w/ Melanie - the color is distracting from an interesting shape.
i like this sofa better. how much are these sofas anyways? why would someone have a website and no prices?
it looks a little slouchy.
"why would someone have a website and no prices?"
Because furniture manufacturers (Caligaris, Bernhardt, Lane, Mitchell Gold, etc., etc.) neither set retail prices nor sell directly to the public -
- Retailers who carry the furniture lines in their stores and sell to the public set prices.
For those who are wondering about the price, UK websites list the sofa for roughly £1800.
Bepsf, the link in the post IS to a retailer, not to the manufacturer.

oops i meant to post this link in my last post...
i don't live in the UK...so what does that equate to in US Dollars.
I love Calligaris--the two-tone Jam Chair rocks my world--but this may be the fugliest sofa I've ever seen, I don't care how soft it is.
Around $3600 for something that looks like it came from JC Penney? Not. Hot.
$3600 for that? JUDAS....
PETA should be aware of this product. This is what happens when you skin Barney.... be ware kids!
make a great sofa to anchor a u-shape conversation area with a pair of bean bag chairs for people for whom the idea of sitting up straight is horrifying
I like it. Not in purple, no thanks, but the website indicates that it is available in an array of colors. And I'm not opposed to bright colors.
It looks super-duper comfy, and that's the most important thing for my sofa.
I like the sofa but not in those colors --- would make a nice sofa in a bedroom or den.
Would like to see richer fabric on a high end level used on it for a more formal attitude myself.
Would also want to know how long the arms and back will stay in a clean even line and not sink down from use.
Hmmm my immediate response upon seeing.... Ooohhh, Um NO!
The color choice is unfortunate, but I have been seeing more and more of this "unstructured minimalism" popping up in furniture lines above the Calligaris price point for a while now. Mario Bellini's Bambole 2007 sofa for B&B Italia comes immediately to mind as does the recent resurgence of the Ligne Roset Togo sofa, and the Roche Bobois Mah Jong sofa:

NOT!!!
I think it's kinda cute, 60's space-agey?
have a look-see how they get new zealand wool. it's disgusting. otherwise, my first thought was OOOH COOL! something that doesn't look like it's right off the ikea assembly line.
I agree the color may be a bit hard to work with, but I think that with some sharper items in the room, maybe a lucite coffee table or something, it might work out rather well.
I like the idea of putting legs on it, but if it really is just a big stuffed blob, then they'd have to put at least a base of thick particle board or composite to support it and to drill the legs into.
