Ha! I love it. I am half-English and have spent a lot of time in the UK. It's hard to escape images of HRH.
I kind of like it because here, all the coins etc have the same silhouette (in varying ages) and it's kind of a comforting familiarity. I think having it in the US would be a wee bit gimmicky, though - unless you really like the idea of a monarchy.
if this were obama, would it be hot or not?
I agree, for american decor this might be a bit, how do you Britons say it, 'twee'?
that orange clock would look great on the set of Ugly Betty
ehhhhh...I think the silhouette could be better. It just looks like a random silhouette of a women with a crown on it.
I doubt I would chose the Queen profile as shown, but I can think of lots of other well known faces or shapes that would make great looking clocks. I like the idea.
As a Yorkshire girl living in Chicago, I love it. It's a bit of home, really.
It's initially arresting but for some reason reminds me of the ubiquitous "Keep Calm and Carry On" poster. That being said I prefer orange over black.
please no!! Can the design world please move on without these things. Agree reminds me of more of the Keep Calm Poster madness.
I saw the black and was all "meh".
I saw the orange and was all "awesome!".
Either color would work perfectly in my living room.
i love the black. i want to make one of my son.
This silhouette appears to be *a* queen, but is certainly not a likeness of *the* Queen (of England). The Queens of Sweden, Spain, Netherlands, et al. are probably even less recognizable in profile.
Hilarious! (I wouldn't use it, but it's funny to see!)
I'd rather see my own silhouette on my wall.
