A universal base to turn just about any chair into a rocking chair. Simply bolt the feet of your favorite chair to the supplied rockers and rock away. We like the DIY nature of this as something to facilitate re-purposing chairs which may no longer be of use or interest. The aesthetic is a little Frankenstein-ish but funny, kind of like the chair is wearing skis. With the right combination, people might not be able to tell it wasn't always a rocker. The best part is that they shouldn't damage the chair and could always be removed. Let us know what you think after the jump...

Ski bindings for chairs!!! who knew??

Exactly my thoughts!
Is this a concept piece? In practice I see nothing but pain in store for someone rocking after unsuccessfully tightening the bolts.
adorable, in a frankensteinish way.
that is truly hideous.
They look dangerous as well as hideous.
interesting concept; bad execution.
horrifying
UGHLEE!!
I like this a lot!!! I would totally buy it. It did make me picture a person going down the slopes in a chair, that'd be fun!
wouldn't the center of gravity be a little high? It depends on the chair used, of course, but something about it looks a bit wobbly. fun idea though.
this is gross AND stupid.
wd40 to make it go and duct tape to make it stop... My Dad would have loved this.
it's a really interesting concept, so thanks for posting it.
i'd rather have an eames rocker
The examples might be a bit ugly, but I like this idea. Like DIY light fittings, it seems like one of those "over to you" things -- in most hands (sadly, including mine) it'll produce ugly, impractical results... but I bet some creative types could go to town with a product like this and produce something really terrific, clever, good-looking and functional. I so so wish I were one of them...
Good joke!
I'd get killed.
i actually like the "ugliness" of the first example... kind of modern/eclectic
it'd be great in a minimalist bedroom, where chairs are rarely used for sitting
Funny. Positive votes far outnumber negatives on the survey, yet the comments section is overwhelmingly on the UGH side. Conclusion: People are more inclined to write when they hate something than when they like it. That's my hypothesis, anyway, and I'm sticking to it.
I agree with JonathanB: this is a good idea awaiting the right execution.
