We totally want one of these Water Stopping Water drain stops for our bath tub. It was the winner of the I.D. Design Award 2007 and 2008 winner of the IDEA Design Award as a concept, but now they're accepting pre-orders for the real deal. Like or loathe them?

i like this!!
this won a design contest? were regular plugs not working well enough? I mean, it's ok looking, but i already have a plug. I don't need to buy a fancy one and throw more shit in a landfill. I kept waiting to find out that this did something miraculous- but it's just a fancy looking plug...
No gimmick, this-- an elegant stopper with a useful handle that happens to look like a Harold Edgerton high-speed image.
hmmmmm.... I bought a plug that is almost exactly the same, the only difference is that instead of the water drop as a handle there is a tiny hand reaching out as if a tiny little person is being washed down the drain. I thought it was hilarious, and it was available in fun colors too (I chose neon pink for my otherwise all black/white bathroom). I bought that one in a design store in Shanghai, in either 2006 or 2007, don't remember which year it was. I wonder who came up with this first?
The plug works like a charm, I used to have one of those "click-up, click-down" plugs, it cost me a fortune and it always got stuck till it eventually broke.
pretty! Though I'd totally pick the little man being washed down the drain kaaber
Cute...though I think I'd like the one kaaber bought better.
Stoppers like this are really easy to knock out of place while doing dishes or bathing...
...some things, like the old-fashioned rubber stopper on a chain, don't need updating.
My love of this particular piece depends on its price.
$10 - OK
$20 - No longer lovin' it.
I guess if you were in a position of needing to buy a new stopper for some reason, this would be kinda cute, but if you already have a stopper, why bother? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Obviously depends on 3 things: how easy it is to get, what it costs, and whether I needed a new one
No matter how 'nice' it is, i wouldn't go out of my way to get one. its a stopper, not shoes :P
