We recently received a tip that Linens 'n Things, a national home chain store, is going out of business and liquidating their entire inventory. As everything on their website (and in stores) is being heavily discounted, we thought we'd post a quick round-up of a few great items after the jump...

These classic cotton duck cloth slipcovers are both $7.99 each.

LNT has a large collection of curtains and sheers; these Phoenix Tab Curtains have been discounted to $27.99 for set of two 63" panels.

With a more interesting shade (though we think the simple shade included isn't half bad) this workhorse pair of bronze table lamps is an amazing $44.99 - the starting price of about one shade at Just Shades.

Also on sale is a wide variety of items for the kitchen (including appliances!); these storage canisters top out at $7.99 each.

This is old news. I hit them up back in the summer when they had their first round of liquidation and got some great deals, like a sofa slipcover for half off.
Yeah, I heard the news over a week ago. So I went last week and was disappointed to see nothing was marked down yet. Will be checking back soon though...
It seems like they reverted to the list price(instead of the everyday lower price) before taking the discount on several things. You know, "mark it up to mark it down"! Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick cookware sets are even higher than Crate & Barrel...seriously, when does that EVER happen?
Hmmm... yeah, 30% off isn't really that impressive.
I went there this weekend for sheets...I did find a set, but the deals weren't really that great...I'll go back if it goes to 50% or more...
The national liquidation just started, so if you think you were shopping it before, that's because your particular store was closing. Now ALL the stores are closing.
And yeah, don't bother with this unless you're desperate. Before you could combine 20% coupon with sale prices, and now everything just 10-30% off regular price. So in fact, prices are actually worse than they were before. But people see clearance and assume it must be great.
If you wait a few weeks, the 10-30% discount becomes 50-70%. The CA Bay Area stores did this over the summer and I managed to get some throw pillows at 40% off, and then a few more Nate Berkus items at 50%. Granted the pickings will gradually become slimmer but you might score a few great deals!
good riddance!!! i HATE TNT!!!! horrible quality and everything is overpriced !!!
The store near me closed over the summer. By the time discounts got low enough for me to be impressed, nothing good was left. I was amazed to see people go crazy over 20% off from a store that sends me a 15% off coupon once a week.
The Norwalk CT store has been goign out of business for 2 months. We stopped by about 3 weeks ago -- terrible selection left, and the discounts are still paltry. And the store was a wreck -- not worth a trip!

Had anyone seen this from this summer?

Maybe it's less funny now....
I happen stop into one today. Mark down is nothing to get excited by, I assumed it sucked because only that particular store was closing. Despite signs of 40-60% markdowns on the windows, almost everything is just marked down to 10%, with a few being at 20%. Considering that Bed Bath Beyond is generally priced at least equal if not less and I have two coupons from them for 20% off I could get a better deal from them, and still have the option to return them if something went wrong.
FYI - they are not excepting competitors coupons since they are closing, just incase anyone was wondering.
At the store I went to there were plenty of people coming in and out an no one was really buying anything, so I don't think LNT's "markdowns" were really fooling anyone. I did leave with the umbra "joey" soap pump in white (at 10% off), which I couldn't find anywhere else, including umbra online (seem to be sold out) so it wasn't a total waste.
The one here has been "liquidating" for a long time - good riddance, I say. The prices weren't that good, but it was selling store fixtures for really cheap. They were selling the employee lockers for a fantastic price - if I had the money, I would have bought it on the spot for my son's room!
