Last week the weather here in Minnesota got really really cold, like freeze your toes off cold. So, we are always looking for new ways to keep the cold out and the warmth in. Because we have a few doors in the house that we don't use often, like the one to the ice covered deck, we've started putting our dog beds in front of them as draft dodgers. Find out more after the jump!

Our dogs love being near the door, especially when it has windows they can look out of. So, putting the dog beds in front of the doors we don't use in the winter kills two birds with one stone: the dogs are where they want to be and the drafts are dodged.
Don't worry, the dog beds don't get cold so the dogs are cozy warm too!

Oh my god! I love your dogs!! Look at those faces!
what a novel idea! and what a beautiful trio of dogs!
interesting idea, but wouldn't your dogs be cold if their bed is being used to block/absorb any cold air that's coming in?
@ morning altruist, it says above that the beds don't really get too cold, and I'm sure that if it was cold the dogs wouldn't lay on it!
maybe those dogs are like my cats: always in the coldest spots in winter and the hottest spots in summer!
i like that the author put in a note to let us know that the dogs were both warm and happy.
What a great idea!
Even if it does get cold, the dogs don't look too bothered!
