Hammocks may not make their way on the list of hotel must-haves; but maybe you'll rethink that once you realize how luxuriously relaxing they can be. Hammocks are more than Margaritaville coma catchers &mdash and we think they'll be hitting the top ten requirements for your next hotel stay.
How can they not be a necessity when you see hammocks like these? They're extremely relaxing and comfortable and turn you into a sort of cocoon while you're soaking up the sun, or listening to the waves crash against the beach.
We're going on vacation in August and looking at each of these hammocks in these far off places is making us want to find that marker and draw a giant x over each day. A countdown is the only way we're going to get through this next month.

Hammocks are also extremely popular for backyard lounging &mdash do you have one?

Good things come to those who wait....I've had a hammock for 23 years. Bought it on my honeymoon and I still have it (even though the marriage is now defunct!). I never had a place to hang it. I do now and I hung it this past weekend. Heaven! Pure blissful relaxation!
When I used to live in Colorado we had a beautiful hamhock. Now that I live in Florida, this is reminding me how much I miss it! I always show great outdoor furniture ideas on my blog - and these hamhocks need to be added to the inspiration! Thanks Apt. Therapy!
My husband and I always tried to snag the big double hammock at our honeymoon hotel on St Lucia. It was blissful to lie in it, gently rocking, feeling the breeze, looking at the turquoise waters. Damn, I need to go back to St. Lucia! We also used one at Disneyworld that was pretty great.
We have one up at my cabin, and I'll be headed there this weekend. Typically, we keep it inside so it's not destroyed by the rigors of weather and cousins, but I think I'll have to put it up and have myself a siesta or two.
hammocks are one of the best inventions ever...we even set one up in my industrial design studio at school! it made those long nights spent working that much more bearable. the first photo is my favorite; those hammocks just wrap around so well. great for a relaxing day with a book!
Oh how I long for a return trip to Brazil after seeing these pics...and with such inviting hammocks, who needs the bed?!
