The House Beautiful archives hold a wealth of information and images from the past 114 years (though images weren't a part of the first issues)! Included are the hot interiors from the style makers of the 1960s — made more popular with the critical style success of AMC's Mad Men. In an homage to the show and the start of their 4th season, House Beautiful pulls some of the best 60s interiors from their vault…

I gotta say, those living rooms look almost exactly like most of the living rooms featured on this site.
That kitchen island! The tiling! The scalloped fan! I'm not sure it's better or worse than the orange.
I find it troubling that recently every other post on AT that features 1960s modern style mentions Mad Men.
The MCM period looks awful to me. I'm glad that it's over and all that's left for us are great classic pieces (that we can't afford! darn it).
building your home design based on today's hot tv show almost seals it's fate as being passe in the not too distant future. I'm not much of a fan of MCM and the more I see of it the less I like it.
Personally I really love the bedroom. I am coveting the bedspread, saturated with color as it is. It looks like chenille, too, soft and inviting. And I'll always have a thing for Asian-inspired decorating.
I actually LOVE the white kitchen with the scalloped edged fan. I would do something like that today, if i could find that fan.
The kitchen reminds me of "Bewitched". And I'm liking the blue ceiling that coordinates with the rest of the Asian-inspired bedroom. Lovely.
