Nomade Express Slee...
So fun and unconventional!
Fun! Love the kitchen cabinet idea!
It's a nice space. I really like the kitchen. What is the floor made of? Do you actually leave the couch outside all the time or was it just stylized for the picture?
The living room on a diagnol is good since you don't look like you have a lot of furniture to fill up the space. What's up with the train? Does it come by your place and make a lot of noise? Sounds romantic but not if you are trying to sleep.
Your home looks absolutely charming, and I will add one more personal reason I love this House Call: I was born in Wichita, and my grandmother, who lived in Wichita all her life, was named Georgia. Thanks for giving me a moment of Kansan pride!
I really dig the fun industrial look. I love the outdoor sofa... is it vinyl? My grandma's from Kansas too :)
Yeah, I love the photos we've got, but you haven't explained what a train has to do with anything. Is this in some kind of converted train station? It's right next to the train? Need more information.
I really like the kitchen. It reminds me of that other kitchen that did not have real cabinets, just (movable) restaurant-grade stainless steel counters, etc.
Great home! I'd love a house tour. Your place has so much of an unconventional character.
This Kansan (living in FL) loves it too!
Yeah Kansas! I am in love with the lockers in the kitchen! Brilliant!
Love how they used the lockers. Such a creative kitchen.
Really great style! I'd love to see more.
Love that kitchen!
Nice to see another Kansan on here. Hello from KC!
Thumbs up on the kitchen!
Full tour, please!!
Nice to see a lot of Kansan's on here! Hello from Wichita! The train really is crazy loud here, we're in East Front and can hear it most nights, even with the windows closed. I love the kitchen! I'd love to see more, I'm calling for a full house tour, please!
...cool space with cool furnishings. Is clutter back in style? If so, consider me Miles Davis!
I like the blues, oranges, and diagonal placement.
Where did you get your white couch? Love it.
I'm in Wichita, too. Love this look! Nice to see someone else from ICT showing off their style!
More! More! More!!
Hello & thanks for the comments!
Here are some answers:
-A train track runs very close to the space. The trains took a bit of getting used to, but we kind of love them.
-We would love to take credit for the kitchen, but it was designed & built by the previous dwellers.
-The floor is concrete. Concrete floors are FANTASTIC by the way!
-The white couch was purchased through craigslist. (Almost all of our furniture was purchased through craigslist.)
-The blue couch is indeed vinyl. We move it outside for gatherings & backyard movies. It lives in the house or in one of the shipping containers most of the time.
We rotate furniture around fairly regularly. The basement (not shown) holds all the extra stuff (plus my print studio & laundry room & a ping pong table & whatnot).
Hoorah!
Really love it! More!!
Such a fantastic space! Love the industrial chic vibe. Well done indeed.
