Name: Hidden House; Standard
Location: Mount Washington, CA
Size: 3,500 sq. ft.
Los Angeles architecture team Standard recently completed this beautiful upgrade to a formerly modest 2 bedroom, 1580 sq. ft. home to a expansive (if not luxurious) 3500 sq. ft. Although the home is quite spacious, the physical impression seems smaller thanks to the careful incorporation of landscaping that gives the structure a less intrusive presence, respecting the natural seclusion afforded to residents of Glassel Park. We especially love the courtyard, redwood accents and huge expanse of glass windows which gives the residents a stunning view from their hillside location...

i've seen a lot of beautiful places... but that might possibly be my dream house.
I'll fight you for it. I totally agree, it's superb!!!
BF leaves around the corner from the house and it looks beautiful from the street, and all you can see is the garage. Ha. We were meaning to go and ask who the Architect was as its just about the style we would like to build. Any ideas?
Jose A: the architecture firm is linked at the top by the name (Standard).
Thanks Gregory....and I should take the fact that I wrote leaves instead of lives as a sign that a nap is in order! =)
Absolutely gorgeous. I love how it brings "the outside in" and seems so natural in the environment. A perfect house for the climate I live in too (Sydney, Australia), if not necessarily my wallet... ;-)
Stunning house, but where's the art? So me, that's a flaw-- maybe these owners just haven't settled enough to hang any.
@dak237:
These images are from a while back. Take a look at the images AT-LA took of this house from the Dwell home tour a few weeks back and you will see that Hidden House now has lots of art--including a few works by yours truly. http://gallery.apartmenttherapy.com/photo/062909dodeastside1
