Former owner of Silho Furniture and Angeleno interior design consultant, Jason Martin has launched a new online resource for those looking for help and inspiration on a budget. His DIY+ service recently launched to help "those who want help with a design project but wish to complete the project on their own and in their own time", basically creating an outline for clients to do it themselves, but with a helpful professional's opinion. Here's a peek at a Laurel Canyon home decorated with Martin's keen eye for texture, colour and comfort...

We're particularly inspired by the generous use of golden wheat colours, earth tones and succulent greens accented by the vibrant focal points of reds and oranges. Martin also has a strong affinity for zigzag motifs that carries from the living room, to the dining room all the way into the bedroom...a small but notable detail which gives the space a cohesive decorative scheme; a good idea to steal!
