Name: Kara and Loop
Location: South Pasadena
Size: 600 sq. ft.
On the weekends, when most of Los Angeles is escaping from the heat by taking a dip in the pool, Kara and Loop are scanning local thrift stores. A shared passion between the couple, it's unlikely you'll find anything purchased brand new among their decor. And while their home is a comfortable 600 square feet, they create numerous cozy spots and nooks with ease (which makes the space feel much larger). Their home is full of unique furnishings and rich colors--and with an eye for the next awesome score, Kara and Loop have created what we like to call a lustworthy, thrifted nest.

I love the "grow bag" plant containers -- if that's what they are. You can buy them or make them yourself out of landscape cloth, but I didn't realize you could use them indoors.
What a sweet and simple home. I like it very much.

I keep hoping I'll get lucking and find some awesome dining room chairs... I'm very jealous of yours!
I really liked the home except for that very disturbing mirror above the fireplace. Unless I was seeing it wrong....
Absolutely love the turquoise dining room chairs!
That looks like one of the Raymond Hill late-forties four-plexes. I'm about to move up there myself and will definitely be borrowing some inspiration from this apartment.
I like this. The books clumsily placed in the windowsill are my favorite. :)
What are the logs in the fireplace... are they real wood with candle holders on them? I love it, whatever it is - please give me the details!
I agree about the logs in the fireplace. I'm assuming it's non-functional? What a great way to give the impression. Also totally down with the curtains near the table-- my guess is you aren't allowed to paint. Personally, I almost like the curtains better!
Strange, by the way this house feels, it is as if I can tell how deeply they love each other. It's like there's a perfect blend of the both of them. I'm glad there aren't any pictures of the owners, the feeling they emote is strong enough without it. Sorry if that sounds creepy. It's just that, so many house tours are so all about one person or the other, and how the couple divides the line between themselves with the furniture they choose. This house is so clearly a quite, unpretentious union of two. It's so nice for a change.
I love the blue and white chairs too!!
The fireplace mirror, 'The Lady from Shanghai' Orson Wells and Rita Hayworth. At least its a focal point.
I love the mirror - bold and modern!
I can't believe that is 600 square feet! Great job except the walls seem to be crying for a little color. ~Tracy
The indoor planters look like Woolly Pockets-http://www.woollypocket.com/.
