Name: Kibwe (interior designer) and Emily (fashion designer)
Location: South End, Boston, MA
My roommate, Emmy, and I recently renovated our street level condo in a South End townhouse. My style is masculine and modern while hers is feminine and eclectic. To keep the space cohesive, we kept the color palette simple and we strategically mixed our artwork and possessions in the living/dining areas. We found low cost and imaginative solutions that transformed the space. We replaced the bulky closet doors with drapery and stained the plywood substrate in carpeted areas to continue the look and feel of the beautiful hardwood floors in the living room. The patterned accent wall in the living room is actually a stencil designed by Emmy. The entire design is infused with both our styles and is proof that different tastes can exist within a home.
We've had amazing response to our Apartment Therapy House Tour Submission Form that we launched last month. While we will work with homeowners of our favorite homes to feature full tours, we will also share the best as House Calls — short, quick tours of readers' homes. Submit your home here.

i've never seen such a cohesive home created by roomates... you're to be congratulated!
This home is really beautifully put together. I am quite impressed.
I love the South End and I love this place. Great job in mixing styles.
I love love LOVE the flooring! I've never seen hardwood done like that before. It's beautiful.
The floor in the first photo is stunning. And the aesthetic that you both have come up with is warm, inviting and cozy. Well done!
nicely done, esp. since you're roommates! very comfortable as well as eclectic & creative. Yay South End!!
very very nice--I love the floor too. Is that a car stereo by the way next to Men are from Mars?
I love the stenciled wall in the living room - the pattern is wonderful!!

The chocolate brown curtains in the bedroom are delicious.
The stereo is not a car stereo, we concealed the speakers next to the fabric covered bar. The curtains are Merete from IKEA - 100% Cotton, only $40 for the set - I purchased 3 sets because I think drapery looks best when there is volume.
