Timothy Braseth of Willow Glen Partners sent us this gallery of images of their restoration project of the Pasinetti House in Beverly Hills, which was initially set to be demolished in 2007, but thankfully saved to glorious results. More than one year later, the Case Study era, Haralamb Georgescu designed residence is being designated a Los Angeles Historic Cultural Monument and was rehabilitated under the careful eyes of the Los Angeles Office of Historic Resources and the Getty Research Institute (where my better half works!). Check out the gallery of the results of the hard work done by Willow Glen Partners, furnished with era-appropriate vintage pieces from Gio Ponti, Jens Risom, John Keal and the architect Haralamb Georgescu below...

This home is very nice...
...but what's up w/ the hateful "Yes on Proposition 8" ads here and on the slideshow???
Shame on AT.
Use Firefox and you won't see the ads!
Why are all the photos in this slideshow all pixelated? They appear to have been sized up improperly.
Monica--
Can't use Firefox when I'm at the office and looking at AT during lunch/break...
...and that's not the point: AT is not the place for political ads - much less ads in favor of eliminating rights for certain California citizens.
It's hateful and it's wrong.
bepsf: we want to clarify that those ads were served without our approval or notification and we've put in a very adamant request to prevent this from happening again. Unfortunately, we cannot monitor each and every ad that is served before they go up...that's just how the game works online, but we're as unhappy with this as you are.
On a personal level, everyone at the ATLA staff strongly believes in the rights of all our California citizens, with a few of us phone banking and canvassing on behalf of what we believe privately. I would have hoped you'd have given us the benefit of the doubt instead of assuming the worst :(
AT posted above that it was out of their control and they are trying to fix it, I know about flipped one when I saw this.
Back to this house. I lived in LA and I am very familiar with many of the Case Study homes and I have to say many of them get either what I call the "condo" look or the natural and existing materials are covered up with shag wall to wall carpet either way does nothing for the once beautiful integrity of what was. I know many of them need updating and some modernization but I hate seeing this kind of work. I am sorry I do not like this remodel.. the dark wood finish is very late 80- early 90's the floors are not right.. I really do not like the kitchen at all. Sorry to be so negative but the original intent was using natural and simple materials to allow the architecture and its simple lines be in harmony of one another. This remodel looks like it could be in SF SOMA like one of the many "lofts" done durning the dot.com.
They missed the point!
Thanks Gregory - I appreciate the explanation and apologize for the flaming.
I had assumed that AT had some sort of vetting process on the ads displayed on the site...
Sweet doggy.
