The room above seems to personify the season of winter itself, with a huge white shag rug that we'd imagine like walking on a polar bear's back and ice-vibrant turquoise striping up and across the ceiling. Cool, but definitely not cold. The interior design is the work of LA local, Betsy Burnham, each room exhibiting great examples of colour as a focal point against neutral palettes (looks like lacquered red is a favourite). Some great ideas from a pro here in regards to infusing style in a room without giving up inviting comfort...

I love the pop of color and graphic texture atop the fireplace. Coral?
that pale teal chaise is incredible.
agreed -- the teal/turquoise chaise is awesome!
Walking on the back of a polar bear? I think I did that one weekend at Ty's...
That chaise does not look teal on my monitor.
"Personify the season of winter itself"?? Sure, French doors leading into palm verandas always makes me think of Jack Frost.
"...with a huge white shag rug that we'd imagine like walking on a polar bear's back..."
More like a Flokati - and walking on the back of a giant Greek sheep...
(We'll save the Polar Bear skin references for Sarah Palin's interior decor)
I do love the wardrobe cabinets w/ the applied fretwork and the draperies on the stair landing...
the damask curtains in the office are gorgeous! but i thought red coral overstayed its welcome a few years ago now...
Ditto on the fab bedroom chaise of ambiguous colour designation...(I suggest robin's egg blue).
Can someone please identify the source? I must have one or something like it....
