Now, I like there squarish, glass houses as much as the next guy. I own a squarish glass house (SGH). But seriously, does the Times need to show us an SGH EVERY week, and sometimes twice a week? (It's a staple in the Sunday magazine too). We get it: the SGH in the Berkshires - fascinating. SGH at the beach: Wow. SGH that used to be a rancher: yeah, we saw that in MetHome about four thousand times too. And of course, the neighborhood comprised of cult-inspiring 1950s architect's SGH's, whose owners want to keep a secret from all of us wannabes? It was interesting the first 6 or 7 or 30 times. Now? I'm tired. We need another SGH story like Dubai needs another cock-shaped skyscraper. If I want more disguised and/or surprising minimalism, I'll ask for it. Until then, can you show us something new or different? Please?

As a fellow SGH-dweller, I love seeing stuff like this. However, at the same time, I feel pangs of regret over neat ideas I could have implemented at my abode. This particular house is great, especially the landscaping, but $450K for a remodel of a house that looks to be no more than 1500sf is INSANE. Bring on the SGH's, but try to find one that was done at a somewhat rational price point.
