From Lisa:

"I'm a graphic designer and artist, our new home has become the canvas for my artwork and easy DIY ideas. Having written a blog called tomfo.com for the last three years, all the pieces I have created over the last year have found their way into our greatest project to date, our sea change to Yamba. Its environment, teamed with a Scandinavian feel and minimalist design, is the inspiration behind my new collection called Yamba Scandi. More importantly, they are all beginning to blend together in layers, making our house a home. This is the house we would never have been able to afford to build in the city, so it's like a dream come true and it's inspired a whole new collection of art."

Apartment Therapy Survey:

My Style: Minimalist, Scandi Style, Yamba Scandi

Favorite Element: The black and white teamed with the blonde wood and pops of green in the plants. We've sanded back a few of our older pieces of furniture to upcycle them in our new home and the fact that we DIY'd a lot of pieces makes this house feel like it's got our own stamp on it. There's many more to come, this is just the beginning, it will be filled with more art prints from my new collection.

Biggest Challenge: Not stopping now we are in, we have about six more middle-sized projects to finish and we have taken a bit of a break, we need to get motivated to finish these last projects.

What Friends Say: Wow, what is this floor? Did you make that? They also love the organization in the garage/studio.

Proudest DIY: I have a few DIY pieces we have made: Diy Concrete stools as bedside tables, Scandi Style Mirror in our bedroom, Grid memo board we have 2 of these, DIY Office Desk super easy to make and the Hallway lighting our electrician was so awesome to try something new

Biggest Indulgence: Piped music in the bathrooms, outdoor, kitchen, media room and office that are zoned in 6 areas so you can turn on one without the other.

Best Advice: Collect ideas and colours you like then make up mood boards on Pinterest, so you can show builders and trades, that way they can see the bigger picture. Then incorporate the ideas you love and that also function for your home with your own style.
