My/Our style: Mid-century modern with an organic feel. Inspiration: The windows and views. Favorite Element: Again, the windows and views! Biggest Challenge: Having some dangerous areas in the house for our two small children (open staircases, wide railings, several balconies, etc.), yet wanting to maintain as much of the original design and features as possible. Also, this was our first ever home remodel so we had a huge learning curve. What Friends Say: The house is so open and bright! Biggest Embarrassment: The laundry room/storage area. It is a disaster! Proudest DIY: The vegetable garden and raising chickens. Biggest Indulgence: Our bathtub in the master bathroom (a WetStyle soaking tub)...let’s just say we committed to buying it at the beginning of the project. Had we made the decision later on, we probably wouldn’t have indulged quite a bit. However, it is definitely worth it! Best advice: Let the house speak for itself. Dream source: Design Within Reach.
