This past spring SKGR's parents finally sold their family cabin up in the Sierra Nevada Mountains after almost 20 years. It had been a favorite summer hideaway for most of her life, but lately no one was getting up there to use it.
We went up in April for a last visit and to see what we wanted to keep and took nearly 200 pictures to document the place and the style of the interior, which was modest but would have made Ralph Lauren all jelly, we're sure. The cabin is part of a larger camp, Camp Sierra, and travelling there is like stepping back in time. When we arrived it was snowing and when we left it was green. There are a lot of pics (it's a very indulgent slideshow), but it will serve - for us at least - as a core sample of design ideas for a lost era. MGR
