The March/April 2008 issue of HOME Magazine features a house tour of a 1938 one story ranch home in the Pacific Palisades. Prior to 1998, when the current owners moved in, the home had been through several additions and was suffering from lots of dated features. After two major renovations (one in 1999, and another in 2005) the owners were able to bring back it's original charm and still be updated for today's lifestyle...
The whole March/April 08 issue of HOME magazine is themed "Before and After" and this housetour is no exception. Check out the article online and view the slideshow to see how what the home was like BEFORE the renovations. The results are pretty dramatic.

We're loving how light and airy the whole place is now and the mix of traditional and modern pieces throughout the rooms. Read the entire story here.

The green lattice fabric on those armchairs is really nice.
black, white and yellow seems to be a very obvious choice for many renovations inspite of the colorful accessories and paint patterns the showrooms are showcasing !
These pro-tours are nice, and all.. But, I way prefer the real life House Tours from AT Readers.
I agree with PlanItGirl. I feel like the house tours have dramtically shifted towards pro/'inspiration' recently, is that a choice, or because of a shortage of AT readers homes? I used to think my place might be tour worthy after a major cure, but lately not so much (which is fine, but I think it's a shift).
And while I'm a fan of Jonathan Adler, this is just too much!
bepsf, I believe the green trelis fabric is Kelly Wearstler's "imperial trellis" design.
what material is used for the kitchen counters, please?
