I love your King Charles Cavalier. Ralphie wants to know why you got top billing. Is it a seniority thing? Just so you'll know, he thinks of it as Ralphie's apartment.

Really nice place. I'm not sure you are utilizing the living area the best way possible, though, with the couch stuffed into the corner across from the desk area and the shelving against the kitchen's wall. I suppose you are trying to expose the fireplace area? (although it is still partially covered by the couch).

Great taste, and you did well generally not overstuffing it, maybe just unstuff the corners of the living area and I'd be 100% sold.

Michael, LOVE your place. You've made it so warm without even adding color - not the easiest thing to do. Refreshing space for NYC - keeping a place calm, clean and functional is not an easy task. The only shame is that they obviously bricked in an old fireplace long ago. But overall great taste - makes sense that you went to Syracuse as well. ; )

Love the apartment, it looks very calm and classy-- without being stuck up. One question though- how do you focus on your computer with that bright orange right behind it!

I didn't know there was a King Charles Cavier, but I bet it's good! I like how there is a nice balance between areas of elegance and livability. I am not a fan of showroom living spaces... makes me feel the inhabitants are rather cold and entirely too clean. Very comfy and a nice place for your fur baby to roam.

The original brick work looks great and adds such warmth and texture to the place! Love it.

Maybe I'm just uptight, but I find there's something vaguely offputting about a big watercolour of a nude, splayed lady right next to the front door.

This is a beautiful place, and I especially love the curtains that are as unobtrusive as possible against those fabulous windows. But in some photos the apartment seems airy and spacious while in others it seems cramped - I agree with others that the sofa seems squashed into a corner, while right beside it there an empty space in front of the bricked up fireplace.

I'm also with Blandwagon on the placing of the nude right by the front door, I think elsewhere in the apartment would be a better place for it. I'm also not sure if what appears to be a spreadsheet is great entryway art, but it's hard to tell from the photograph what it actually is.

And I know this is an ongoing hot debate on AT, but I think much of the art in this apartment is hung too low - particularly the pieces in the bathroom and over the desk. I think these heights are contributing to the confusion over whether the apartment is light and airy or disproportionate and cramped.

I think the beautiful pictures to the right of the kitchen could be swopped with the shelf unit to the left to make space for a dining area - there currently doesn't seem to be one.

Also, Michael, treat yourself to a bigger bedside table (or a smaller alarm clock).

Just realised all of the above seems really picky and negative, so let me just add that I love that tray table with framed pictures in the entryway. And, again, those perfect curtains :)

So much to admire! It's a great place with beautiful bones, and I love your art collection. The hard wood floors are wonderful, but I'm still missing an area rug in the living area. Perhaps that was a more dog friendly option?

Absolutely LOVE the painting over the desk--really fantastic! The collection of art, in general is very nice, but that's my favorite. Great idea with the tray table, too. And a cute dog is always the best room accessory.

The bathroom is pretty much my dream. I can die happy if I get to look at tile like that while I am doing my thing.

Also, am I they only one in love with galley kitchens? They just... make sense to me and work beautifully.

This is a great apartment. I like the artwork of the nude woman by the door. Keep it there.

However,I agree with others that the artwork in the bathroom is too low and the bedside table is too small/short. I would also move the bookcase to another location.

I too love galley kitchens and especially love the Ikea Adel medium brown cabinets.

This apartment is lovely and looks like a great place to come home to at the end of the day. Very serene. And artwork is hung at the appropriate height eye level.

Lovely place - and the orange artwork is an amazing backdrop for the workspace. Its amazing how much larger it feels than 600 sq/ft

Not my usual style, but I LOVE this apt. The floors & the windows are fantastic. Not crazy about the nude at the front door either, but that's just personal opinion.

I know why he has the sofa shoved up against the wall, it's so when he walks in & sees how lucky he is to have this apt, he has a place to do the Happy Dance!!

You have some really interesting art. I like how you've blended the different types. And your vintage-y bathroom is wonderful. Can never go wrong with black and white!
