It's not surprising that some of the appliances we keep in our homes can be injury inducing if handled incorrectly or carelessly. We found this list to be pretty intriguing, though, of the 16 most "dangerous" household gadgets.
The National Electronic Injury Surveillance System (NEISS)
has compiled information from emergency room visits since 1979, noting injuries that occurred from common household items. It's not surprising that the lawnmower came in at the top, with nearly 80,000 injuries in 2007, but were interested to find out that sound recording equipment logged over 38,000 afflictions!
