The holidays always make us pine for the home we grew up in – warm and familiar – and also dream of the home we might have one day (Bigger? Cuter? With more puppies?). In honor of this season and because we’re all pretty big fans of home here, we’ve rounded up some fun house-themed art for your home (or the home of a friend).
They say home is where the heart is, but it’s also where your favorite art is, too. We certainly loved the variety of art pieces centering around house and home we found on everyone's favorite handmade online marketplace, Etsy. Whether paper, print, wooden block, embroidery or more, there’s bound to be something here to remind you that there’s no place like home.

If you're into building your own, Cassie over at Bella Dia has a nifty tutorial for creating little houses out of cereal boxes shows but you can use any recyclable boxes (cookies, oatmeal, etc.) you have on hand.

I love this.
I am putting more home in my home by adding some little windows and doors to a tree stump that serves as a side table to our sofa.
I saw something like it at the Anthropologie in Albuquerque.
YAY!
Gotta love #3's "home" sign - he's a local seller in my home town!
And he's also a great photographer. I have a few of his photos on my favorites on Etsy.
I might need to get a home sign for my cubicle at work!

This should be added to the mix.

Bought this print from a local NW artist - Jill Bliss. Gorgeous, and frames easily (and cheaply)!
I'm a fan of this great house print by Jean Cozzens of Secret Door Projects:

I used to be so obsessed with San Fracnisco as a kid that I always bought these cheap little matchstick/wooden victorians from the Fisherman's Wharf tour shops. Haven't thought about these things or been to Wharf in years.
I might try to find some this weekend to use as ornaments.
...then one day all the love flew right out the chimney and nothing was the same after that.
Or you can commission a sketch artist who specifically draws the exteriors of homes for real estate ads and Realtors to use for their brochures. In San Francisco, most, if not all of the real estate companies have these artists' names on file. Why not have a professional drawing of your OWN home?
Not etsy, but Donna Wilson does a cute house shaped cushion.
