Q: My parents will be replacing their 2 story redwood deck that was built about 20 years ago. Can the wood be reused and not go into the landfill? I don't have any idea to where to find a company that would be interested. They live in Oakland, California.

If you put the wood on craigslists you will probably have plenty of takers. If I lived near enough, I'd come get it myself.

Also, there is a place called Urban Ore in Oakland or Berkeley.. They are amazing and sell tons of fixtures and built ins and whatnot from old homes... They may take wood, too!
