Q: I have an old dresser that just won't cooperate and, before I refinish it, I want to make sure it will play nice. I have tried every size and shape of art I can think of to put above it, every combination of lamps and other decor to go on top of it, and I just can't come up with anything that looks good:

The dresser itself is 40 inches wide by 38.5 inches high (not including the two extra little drawers on the top, those are another 4.5 inches high). The ceilings in the bedroom are 9.5 feet.
